I usually squander this "quiet" period between Christmas and New Year, so this year I hope to do more positive stuff with it. If I refuse to allow myself to do any proper work, I can concentrate on other activities. I'm off to a good start: I've cancelled my direct debit to Oxfam - because I don't agree with its practices for reducing world poverty. Instead, I've switched my regular donation to Save The Children. I tried emailing Oxfam this news (the direct debit is already cancelled - the wonders of online banking!), but its Submit button when nowhere, so I've been forced to write instead.
I guess if I want to achieve anything else this holiday I should get up!
