To prove I'm not always eating humble pie, I'd like to point out that when people were happy to see the BBC get the rights to Premiership highlights, I pointed out that it would end up the same as ITV's Premiership coverage - in other words, 'elitist' ultimately works out the same as 'populist' in footballing terms. As a result, Blues 4-0 demolition of West Brom found itself buried near the end of the highlights last night as per normal. In the BBC's defence, though, there were higher scoring games than ours, and true to form Spurs, Man Yoo and Chelski took the lion's share of coverage once again.

This is forgiveable: however, Sky Sports decision to make Chelsea's game against Norwich its non-interactive Match Choice (the only choice to cable customers who don't get access to Sky Sports' interactive service) is not. Not because they picked the same lead game as Match of the Day, but because when they announced the line up on Gilette Soccer Saturday after the games we were clearly going to be the non-interactive choice. Make up your bloody mind in future, or I'll cut off my nose to spite my face and cancel Sky Sports...
