Fourth time lucky for Eagles

At 10.20pm I was sat in front of the TV, as the Philadelphia Eagles took a 20-10 lead over Atlanta in the NFC Championship game, one step away from the Superbowl. The Eagles - like Blues in the playoffs - had failed at this hurdle for the past three years running.

I was making changes to our Tesco order when the electricity went.

10 minutes ago, it came back. I tip-toed downstairs, but was forced to log on to the Net to get the final score. The Eagles had prevailed! 27-10... In two weekends time, I shall be risking the wrath of my wife to watch the Eagles in their second appearance in the Superbowl (they lost their first, in 1980).

Suddenly the despair of this weekend, sportswise, isn't so bad... Blues lose, the Eagles win. It's been a constant since the beginning of the season - will it hold for Superbowl XXXIX?
