So here we are, in San Francisco, just hours away from hopefully attending our first baseball game (SF Giants versus their neighbours in Oakland). Here's an update of what we've done since arriving at Lake Powell:
DAY SIX (Lake Powell-Zion National Park via Bryce Canyon)
Left Lake Powell early doors and headed for Bryce Canyon, a spectacular area of richly coloured rock formations. It was completely different again from anything we'd seen so far, and hopefully the photos and movies will help do it at least partial justice. Arrived in Zion National Park late PM and the drive to our hotel just outside the park was spectacular game. Unlike the previous three spots, Zion oozes life - spectacular mountains, deep valleys and plenty of green.
DAY SEVEN (Zion-Vegas-San Francisco)
Our last day on the tour. We re-entered Zion and spent an all-too-brief two hours sampling its wonders from the ground. Of all the sights we've seen - specifically, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon and Zion - this just edges out Monument Valley. We then returned to Vegas in plenty of time to catch our flight to the fourth state on this trip: California (the previous three were Nevada, Arizona and Utah).
DAY EIGHT (San Francisco)
This city is beautiful - having filled up my 256MB card (on top of the 64MB original card) with photos and movies, I invested in third 64MB card - at least we should be okay for Canada with all of these! The pace of life is very West Coast - it's hard not to compare it with Vancouver. Tomorrow we do the city tour and trip to Alcatraz; today we bumbled around getting a feel for the place. It's our last full day tomorrow, but first... Baseball!
