A lot has been said in the aftermath of Friday's shooting, which saw an innocent man die as a result of what is best described as a tragic mistake. A lot of what I've read has been hot air - that somehow the war on terror or whatever it's called these days makes the mistake a justifiable one.
Rather than add my own hot air to this debate, I've kept a low profile, but I was pointed in the direction of this article by a fellow Blues fan this morning, and I couldn't agree more with it. The irony is that it's published in The Times, and is written by a self-confessed right-wing hawk... For my part, I suddenly no longer feel any urge to go into London - after all, I have a darkish complexion, sport a beard and would probably need to wear a rucksack to carry my drink and book. Who should I fear more? The terrorists or the police?
Read it here. Oh, and in a shock twist for me, I see Jeremy Clarkson can talk sense too - read it here.
