... Had to go into Bath for some training today. Train number one was so late I ended up catching the next available train - 45 minutes later. This was bad enough, but the ticket office was mysteriously unmanned from around 8.45am to 9.30am as the person on duty presumably didn't fancy explaining to people why the train was late. That wasn't his fault, but by the time he finally turned up there was a massive queue of people waiting to buy tickets and I was literally scribbling my signature as the 9.43am train stood in the station ready to depart.
I'm still trying to work out if I was surprised as well as annoyed that the 4.35 train I caught back home was delayed 20 minutes this evening. It was listed as "on time" on the live departure boards Web site when I departed Future, but had turned to an ominous "delayed" by the time I reached the platform. I'm actually thinking I was relieved it was only 20 minutes late after all that, which is ridiculous.
It meant I finally got home at around 5.45, as I had a 25-minute walk from the station at the other end. I got home to a tearful Toni - Matti isn't feeling very well and is off her food. We'll be phoning the vets tomorrow to book them in for their injections - we naughtily missed a year last year, but hopefully the little cat will soon be back eating away, scratching the wicker basket at 6.30am in the morning and bolting at the slightest sign...
