Note to self: should you buy a season ticket for Layer Road next season, or see if there's a hope in hell of getting into the away end when Blues play Colchester in the league?
Another awful performance, but to be fair we've managed to be decimated by injuries yet again. And for all of my criticism of Steve Bruce he had the guts to drop Nicky Butt and play his own son in an unfamiliar midfield role. If "nepotism" means "box-to-box" then hopefully Bruce Jr will get more opportunities to cement his place in this side between now and next season.
I still hold the manager and the coaching staff responsible for our plight - my previous criticism stands - but part of me won't be sorry to leave this overpriced, prima donna league. Four years in the top flight has meant our youngsters - many of them local lads - will be pressed into service next season having tasted life among the big boys. It'll be a novelty to have one - or even more - of "our own" representing Blues' colours next season. Cripes, they may even make a late push for another play-off heartbreak! It's been too long since our season ended on a penalty shootout...
And - until Stoke beat us on Saturday - there's always the FA Cup!
