Blues survive!
While the more celebrated men's team were giving up their Premiership status with barely a whimper, the Blues Ladies team have completed a remarkable comeback to escape relegation. After a much-publicised row over finances, Blues Ladies were left to fend for themselves and nearly went bankrupt - they stayed afloat by releasing eight players, including England international Rachel Yankey. But three straight wins have seen them safe - see here. I may be a Blues fan, but clearly there was some karma on offer here, with the financially struggling Ladies making a mockery of their overpaid, injury prone male counterparts.
