Step forward Gael Monfils, a 19 year old French lad who first came to my attention during the clay court season when he faced Andy Murray twice - he lost to Murray in the Hamburg Masters (having just reached the semis of the previous Masters tournament), but then beat him in five sets at Roland Garros. Last night he was thoroughly entertaining in a 7-6 7-6 win against Melzer of Austria at Queen's - his first ever match on grass. The crowd took to him, as did Toni because he was happy to throw himself about the court (commentator Frew McMillan pointed out he managed to throw a tennis ball to the prettiest girl court-side after the match).
Good to see Henman win against Agassi too.
