Greetings from Canmore

Finally found an Internet connection that includes a proper keyboard (I can check email with my PDA, but composing replies is quite difficult using an on-screen keyboard and stylus!). Here's a quick review of what we've done so far:

DAY 1 (13th Sept): Left home 1am and arrived at Gatwick at 3am. Plane was delayed two hours, but the flight itself was really good thanks to the extra legroom and choice of movies (X-Men 3 and Mission Impossible 3 now off my list). Arrived surprisingly fresh in Calgary (sailed through customs in record time and noticed we'd arrived a year to the day since our last visit) - good job, as it was pouring with rain and driving from the airport proved interesting thanks to a combination of my boots, the poor weather, getting used to a left-hand drive car again and some, ahem, interesting driving.

DAY 2 (14th Sept): Woke to receive an email from Paul and Emma warning us their plane was delayed by two hours, so took advantage of the extra time to visit Calgary city centre via public transport and in the driving rain. Crossed the Devonian Gardens off our list - not that impressive, so nowt missed there mum and dad!). Picked up Emma and Paul from the airport and drove back with no problems.

DAY 3 (15th Sept): It was dry when we woke, so headed east on a 500km round trip to the Alberta badlands. Sadly for this semi-arid region, it was pouring with rain most of the way and when we got there. Spectacular scenery made the trip just about worthwhile. Headed back through Calgary - thank goodness for cruise control on those long stretches of highway - and straight into a snowstorm, but despite a hairy few miles the journey was without incident and we arrived at Canmore late evening.

Running out of time here, so will update more at a later date!
