Hot Fuzz

Finally saw this hugely entertaining British movie last night. Let's get the negatives out of the way first - it sagged a little towards the three-quarters mark as the plot got in the way of the humour.

And now on to the positives: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Timothy Dalton, Jim Broadbent, Edward Woodward... In fact, every single person who appeared in the movie, including the likes of Bill Nighy, Martin Freeman and Steve Coogan in minor roles - the cast clearly had a ball making this film, however tough it must have been with all the action sequences. The action was relentless, the location fantastic (Sandford is in fact the historic city of Wells), the dialogue very very good - even the swearing, which was pitch perfect.

Even better, we were treated to two British films during the trailers, plus a third directed by Brit Danny Boyne. The British film industry is doing quite nicely right now, and long may it continue.
