Let's wipe them all out

I see the government's chief scientific adviser has decided that culling badgers is an effective way to stop the spread of TB in cattle (see here). Once again, humanity shows its complete disregard for any other species on this planet, and it sickens me. The National Farmer's Union naturally support this ban - but then they claim that farmers are the guardians of the countryside, and we've seen where that has led us.

I tell you what, if it's okay to cull a species because it harbours disease, how about letting us start introducing some controls for ourselves? After all, take a look at the maps here - we're clearly out of control, and if we were some other species, we'd be reaching for the shotgun, the gas or the hunting dog. I mean, we wouldn't want to be seen to be hypocritical, would we?
