His politics are so right-wing that a centre-right candidate could be labelled left wing in relation to him. It's obvious the Tories now view the Lib Dems as a credible threat, because they're now wasting precious energy defending their own position as 'official' opposition to the government. That for me is a good sign, because for all the cock-ups of this Labour Party, I still prefer them in power to the Tories, which says far more about my opinions on Conservatives than it does on Labour.
