Just got back safely from London in what feels like record time (I drove the whole way, which might explain that!) - certainly well under three hours.

Slowly putting things away, including everyone's presents for Christmas and souvenirs (for those applicable - I'm looking at you, mum, dad and Lou).

I've finally decided to ditch my Halifax account. I used my Halifax VISA card for the first portion of the trip until it was refused in one shop. When we got back I checked my balances and discovered Halifax charged GBP1.50 for every single transaction. Not enough to cripple me, I'll warrant, but enough to say "enough's enough". I shall open a second Smile account - as the Co-operative Bank are the only ethical bank out there anyway - and use that instead for my work-related stuff. But I'll leave that until after Christmas - load of work to come back to, plus Christmas preparations to start! As an aside, it was refreshing to see Christmas lights, etc not appear in Canada until after 1st December - a welcome change to this country's obsession where we'll soon be switching on Christmas lights in September!
