Back in the real world

Away from the histrionics of football (when you surface from a "session" obsessing about it, you realise just how petty and small-minded it is), two stories of note in the Independent today. I'll skip the rather depressing - if it wasn't so predictable - story that Blair is watering down his climate change agenda for the G8 summit all for his best bud George Dubya (what a weak-minded individual Blair is). Instead, the more encouraging news that Bush is running into trouble in his own back yard as the legislature starts to grow uneasy at some of his administration's policies (and its conduct in taking the US to war).
