Selling houses

It's a hard job. We had two viewings this week - the second turned us down as they wanted a garage, the first have followed the examples of two others and put us in second place. However, they've had one bid turned down on their first choice house and if the sellers refuse their next bid we stand a chance. As the sellers are likely to accept the next bid, I suspect we'll be left high and dry again. It looks like the house was overpriced - we've had six viewings in six weeks, and while it's picked up a little, we're clearly competing with houses we can't top on one thing or another. Still, we're in no rush to move, so I guess we can afford to hold out a little bit longer - it's not as if any properties in Colchester have come up that have said, "Buy me!"

It doesn't help that browsing Canadian properties, we could afford a four-bed rancher for 90K, which would mean we wouldn't even need a mortgage! Said rancher is close to Vancouver too, and on highish ground to boot...
