What can I say? Shocked, appalled, yet well aware why London was targeted today of all days. The world we live in doesn't make sense on a day like today.
When the big things go horribly wrong, we cling to the little things. For half an hour I thought my brother might have been in London today, but I eventually tracked down a number for his office and they informed me he was in Birmingham. Matti has responded well to the injection this morning and eaten a fair bit of chicken today, but there's a long way to go yet before I relax on that front. The people who we hope to buy their house from are apparently on the verge of sealing an offer on a house with no onward chain, meaning we'll be in a chain of four people. Forms for mortgage applications arrive in the post. England beat Australia in another one-day cricket international. The list goes on and on, and I cling to them all as the horror of today sinks in. My thoughts are obviously with the friends and families of those who were injured and who died. And all in the name of sodding religion.
