Hognaston

Off to Derbyshire in an hour or so for two friends' wedding (coincidentally, I'm sure, they're marrying each other!).

Still no confirmation of when our house's survey will take place. Having given our buyers' financial advisor an almighty kick up the backside earlier this week (why not take your client's cheque for the survey and sit on it for a month or two because you've heard the completion date is October? How about finding out when the exchange date is first? Or even thinking ahead - if the survey reveals problems we can deal with them asap instead of sitting on them for six weeks), we're still awaiting the call from the surveyors. Have chased it up twice, and hope our buyers do the same today and Monday. If we are to exchange on 24th August, we have less than three weeks to sort everything out. It appears it's all in hand, but I'd rather know the best - or the worst - regarding the survey sooner rather than later. And all because I'm paranoid that surveyors routinely undervalue properties after two out of four surveys we've had done on houses over the years have come in under the agreed price...
