We went to Wales this weekend to see mum and dad. Originally the plan was that this would our "goodbye" to Wales, but with our house move up in the air who knows what will happen?
Anyway, a good time was had by all, despite Blues' best attempts to cock things up by losing 2-1 at home to Man City. I caught the last 10 minutes in a bar while visiting my sister in Brecon (who works behind said bar), and Blues were awful, but apparently they'd been unlucky earlier on. I said I would reserve judgement until at least five games in, and I'll stick by that (watch for the rant on Tuesday evening if/when we lose to Boro!). Besides, I have enough stress on my plate right now without worrying about Birmingham City FC...
We saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on Saturday night - a good film, but lacking something. Shame they wrapped it up so neatly at the end - I would have preferred to have left it open for the Great Glass Elevator sequel. And not convinced by the new sub-plot involving Wonka's childhood either...
Helped mum to take the first steps towards liberating her online shop. 1&1 has done okay for a year or so, but it's so ugly, so we purchased a template and the shop work is in progress. It'll save her 14 quid a month in hosting fees when she finally switches it on properly. For my part, I've learned a fair bit about e-commerce, and wish I had a shop of my own to play around with! Maybe when Toni sets up her online shop after she quits work and we return from holiday (I daren't say "and after we move").
Tomorrow is D-day on that front - either the survey gets instructed or the Halifax will attempt to persuade our buyers to switch to their financial advisors and try to rush the application through. I've given up crossing everything...
