Still dragging on

The house is back on the market, and our buyer (I still have to refer to him in the present, as you'll see below) has confirmed his appeal has been rejected. However, the Halifax's choice of financial advisor wasn't available last night, so won't be talking to him until tonight. Apparently there are lenders who will allow three people to apply for a mortgage, so this whole sorry saga still isn't quite dead. However, one way or another it will be made official (ie, the estate agents will all be in the know) tomorrow morning. That's when I will have to email our prospective sellers and tell them the bad news - what a way to spend their holiday...

Our buyer has accepted that the house is back on the market - for the first time it feels like he's no longer in power. If nothing else comes of all this, I'll have that extremely minor piece of satisfaction... But even if he manages to get a mortgage after all of this, I'm going to have to ask that the completion date be put back a week or even two. Mind you, right now, that is an unextremely unlikely scenario...
