Our compost bins arrived yesterday, so now I'm no longer having to throw out organic waste - of a certain variety anyway. The company who provide these bins (as well as the water butt we ordered through Anglian Water) sent a catalogue of their products, and I've just mentally spent £200 in there. There's a kit that enables you to compost all organic waste - including cooked food - safely. A bird bath and table for the garden - dad will be pleased to learn that we're inundated with birds and I'm constantly having to refill the bird feeder with sunflower seeds and a more generic seed mix. Of course, the cats are waking up now, so hopefully I won't be falling out of love with them again any time soon!
Toni's parents arrive for the weekend this morning - as usual they never visit without having one or two "jobs" to do. I think they genuinely enjoy it, but we do feel guilty imposing on them all the time. This weekend we're clearing out the gallons of crap left behind by our seller, dismantling the shed ahead of moving it to the allotment and concreting a base at the back on which Toni's workshop will go when it's complete. Yesterday I dug up a small tree (don't ask me what it is) that's been sitting at the back of the garden and now have to work out where it's going to go.
Work continues to keep me occupied - I've had to turn down stuff in the last few weeks due to lack of time. Now we're here and settled in I don't feel quite the same pressure to take on everything that's thrown my way. We're very lucky to be in the position we're in, and I'm eternally grateful for where we are right now.
