We're on fire!

Okay, not literally. We've just had a big bonfire out the back to get rid of a load of wood left behind by the remains of the shed and other rubbish we've found in nooks and crannies. Don't panic - the bulk of the shed was saved. We - as in Toni's dad (Don) with a little help from Unskilled Labourer 1 - finished dismantling the shed this morning. It was 10'x8' - far too big for the allotment, so it was cut down to 8'x6', and by mid-afternoon had been transported to the allotment and rebuilt. At the same time Toni and her mum dug our first bed in the allotment, so we're off and running there properly now.

Back home and some kids from around the corner asked if there was any wood left from the shed - net result, they took everything except the base. They turned up again later asking if there was any more - clearly their dad was looking for a shed on the cheap, even though we clearly told - and showed - them all that was left! If those bits don't turn up on the front drive then we'll have managed to recycle/reuse over 90 per cent of the shed.

The car is now filled with six bags of green waste for disposing of tomorrow - and that's before we look to get rid of the all the wood we didn't burn, the various paint tins and other rubbish still cluttering up the lawn. Sadly that will probably have to wait as Don and I need to level out the back of the garden in preparation for Toni's workshop which should arrive shortly after Easter.

Two exhausting - but exhilerating - days have gone by, and one is left. Toni's cousin and her family pop up from Chelmsford tomorrow morning too to pick up their "new" computer (Toni's old PC that I've revamped). Things are complicated by the fact I need to transfer data and hardware from their old PC, which needs to be fitted around working on the back garden.

Oh, and Blues stretched their unbeaten run to three with a thoroughly deserved point at Wigan. Judging by the reports we should have beaten them - especially when we had a perfectly good goal disallowed for "offside". Blues are up to 29 points with five games left - is it too little too late? Time will tell...
