Are our deserts expanding?

A fascinating - and frightening if you're still unwilling to accept the theory of global warming - story in today's Independent can be read here. If Jeb Bush is now being forced to accept that the argument for global warming is a "compelling" reason for the increase in the ferocity of hurricanes then how long until the cretins at all those oil-sponsored institutes have to stop complaining that there's "not enough data" to convince them that the time for their spoiling tactics is over? Or will they find an increasing number of Americans in sensitive areas like the south western area of their country don't follow their theory that global warming is some kind of badge of honour for American consumption?
