Toni's parents have spent the day with us - and for once they've not been pressed into action for all of it! Instead I treated everything to coffee and cake at Mersea Vineyard with a walk along the beach afterwards. Oh, and I picked up six bottles of Mersea beer (five Stout) at the same time...
Mum and Lou are coming up for the day tomorrow. They accepted an offer on their house last Tuesday, which means all our fingers and toes are crossed. In the meantime, mum and Lou will be scouting around Sudbury tomorrow and Monday before dad arrives home from his break in Finland. Then they'll come up the following week to look properly for houses in the area. As I said earlier, fingers and toes are crossed!
Didn't catch the England game - a good 6-0 win to give them a morale boost before the World Cup. It looks like they're up for it - whether that's enough to win the World Cup will have to be seen, but hopefully they'll make a good account of themselves!
Oh, and the Lib Dems are supporting a decentralised energy policy - apparently up to two-thirds of energy produced is lost between the plants producing it and the homes they power. How appalling is that? I suppose it's par for the course that Labour has done absolutely nothing about it during its nine similarly wasteful years in the power (see here)...
