Blues commenced their pre-season training yesterday. Three players have arrived since we released all those over-paid wasters - Cameron Jerome from Cardiff, Stephen Kelly from Spurs and Neil Danns from Colchester (how could I not be excited by this signing?). All three are 23 or under, and judging from the photos on the official site it appears the lessons of the past two years have finally been learned. We have a full-time fitness coach, a proper twice-daily training regimen and hopefully the tools to begin the long, hard climb out of this division back to our natural home*, which is somewhere between this division and the one above (ie, in a state of euphoria after promotion, or despondency after relegation).
I've already highlighted four key fixtures to see next season: Colchester away, Ipswich away, Southend away and Norwich away. Be warned that this means the 23rd December and 1st January are already off limits...
