Family research back into the 18th Century

I've been slowly transferring my notes from my online Ancestry account to my PC using Legacy SE (a free download from here). I've reverted to the Peers side, and make two interesting discoveries:

1. James Peers and family do appear on the 1841 census, but for some bizarre reason the entry was mistranscribed as Peris - looking at the original image, it's definitely Peers. From this I can deduce James' wife died before 1841, plus it appears Frederick (my great great grandfather) may have been a twin - on the 1841 census, there's an Ann listed as the same age as him.

2. I wanted to try and see what the state of play with parish records preceding 1837 might be, and stumbled on the Cheshire Parish Register Project (here). Thankfully, Nantwich is fully transcribed and I've been discovering more useful stuff about my tree going back into the 18th Century. As things stand, I've found a marriage date for the parents of Frederick's wife, Emma, plus I think I may have just found James' birth date (1795), complete with list of parents. Looks like I might have a wealth of information to glean from this site...

You can all go back to sleep or whatever you were doing now...
