A trip to Bristol...

... We shuttled down to Bristol on Friday night to stay with our good friends Cav, Clare and Chloe - Saturday was Chloe's naming ceremony. We'll skip over the journey down - in particular the two hours it took us to get around 20 miles from the M25/M40 junction to junction 8/9 of the M4 - and concentrate instead on how good it was to catch up with them and attend Chloe's special day. It was a beautiful ceremony, the star of the show was well behaved throughout and it was a shame we had to leave so soon to get back for Toni's craft fair today.

I see Blues lost 2-0 at Cardiff with Damien Johnson back in the side. Hardly his fault we lost, but I suspect that if Steve Bruce doesn't get over his obsession of pairing two defensive central midfielders together then a new manager could be in place within the next two months. It seems absurd that Blues fans would be calling for Bruce's head after taking 10 points from five games, but our performances are patchy and people have woken up to what happened last season. The numbers calling for Bruce's head are growing, but there's still a rump of pro-Bruce fanatics who will blame anyone but the manager for our predicament. If Bruce isn't to blame for bizarre team selections, poor tactics and a negative mindset, then why do we pay him such a handsome salary?

Managed to get some work done today, but I'm sure there must be more to life than this. Ho hum, the kitties go into the vets on Tuesday for some much-needed teeth cleaning, and it's going to cost a small fortune so I need to keep plugging away. More importantly, though, is the fact there's an element of risk involved with anathestic, so Toni and I aren't looking forward to it. Hopefully they'll come back safe and sound, and will forgive us in time!
