Then act on the recommendations in this report (see here): raise taxes for gas-guzzling transport like air travel and 4x4s that belt out emissions like there's no tomorrow (which there won't be unless these kinds of measures are acted on now).

Don't hold your breath though - this government seems incapable of taking measures that actually help people in the long term, which is why the number of people declaring themselves insolvent on an annual basis has quadrupled in the last three years alone. Watch Blair and Brown's proud economic record crumble into ruins when its foundations are discovered to be non-existent (or based on the never-never, judging by the way people rack up personal debt these days).
