Carbon-offsetting

George Monbiot makes a compelling case for refusing to fuel the hype of carbon-offsetting, because it frankly doesn't work. See here. I also note that for all Blair's electoral pledge in 1997, carbon emissions are still rising (see here). Way to go, Tony. I'm sure the millions of people who will die as a direct result of global warming will appreciate all the efforts you made.
