So many to choose from, but here's two for starters:
1. When you're on the open road, doing 50-55mph between Colchester and Sudbury, then there are no cars behind you. As soon as you enter a 30mph or 40mph zone they're on your bumper. I shouldn't be shocked at this - after all, I was just reminding myself that if someone wants to drive 35-40mph on the open road then it's their perogative, only to be surprised at the speed at which said car disappeared over the horizon as soon as we entered a 30mph zone and I slowed accordingly. I suspect these are the drivers who complain loudly about speed cameras while going remarkably quiet when asked about why they were breaking the speed limit in the first place.
2. I see the Countryside Alliance have had a go at the League Against Cruel Sports for "vigilantism" by the latter's attempts to enforce the government's woefully inadequate law banning hunting with dogs. The Countryside Alliance spokesman said something about leaving the law to the law enforcers - how about respecting the law in the first place? Christ, there are many laws I disagree with, but I still respect and obey them. I suspect this persons rigid principle is forgotten the moment he hears a suspicious noise downstairs in his house at night. It's good to see that hypocrisy is alive and well in this post-Christmas period.
