Quel surprise

The world's governments have already sold us down the river re: global warming. All of their targets are based on outdated science, and in the case of our government, they have deliberately set a misleading target, based on carbon dioxide emissions alone (thus conveniently forgetting all of the other greenhouse gases out there - a trick they've probably borrowed from the airline industry).

Monbiot has all the detail here, but basically we're putting the future of the planet - never mind future generations of humanity - at risk because we're too scared to accept that going without "essentials" like 4x4s, frequent air travel and a new mobile phone every six months, never mind over-processed, over-packaged food that comes from any corner of the globe but your local producer, is a ridiculously small price to pay in exchange.
