We've just got back from a pleasant five-night stay in Paris. We've taken in museums, the sights, the French Open tennis and some fabulous food along the way. Our hotel would have been perfect but for the unfortunate ventilation system that moved cigarette smoke from one room to another, but on the whole a great experience leaving us wanting more. The length of the break was perfect too - four full days and five nights gives you enough time to see what you want without dragging on for too long.
I kept well away from my email and the web (sport and weather updates from my mobile notwithstanding), so have returned to discover one of my regular sources of income for the past three years could be coming to an end. More on that story as it develops...
