Revolutionary new device might help slash carbon emissions

The last place I'd expect to find this kind of story is The Daily Mail, but it appears British scientists have developed a "miracle" device that somehow generates energy from "virtually" nothing - see here. The article reveals the device has been independently tested, and that it could halve heating bills in people's homes should it make it to retail, which the company that's developed the device hopes to do within 18 months.
