Hello, anybody there?

Here's a shock - the National Housing Federation reports that unless the government introduces legally binding standards for building new homes it'll miss its target of making all new homes carbon neutral by 2016 (see here). I am, of course, being sarcastic. The housing industry already flaunts building regulations because there are no independent regulators around, while we've seen how poor (despite all the greenwash in their advertising) the car manufacturing industry is.

If our species is going to face up to the damage it's done - and it really ought to be now, not next year or the next decade - it's time to understand that a large chunk of people need to be force fed a reality check. We live in a society where greed is the be all and end all, and where a Labour government doesn't just turn a blind eye to many business-led abuses, but consistently spoon feed it too.

In other news, we're off to Oxfordshire this morning to interview Willowbrook Farm for BBC Countryfile Magazine. It's going to be a long day, but hopefully an enjoyable one.
