Gore wins Nobel Prize

And good for him. The only sour point - given that we'll ignore the White House's comment about it having no effect on its own policies towards Climate Change - is that a British judge had the cheek to call it "alarmist" (see here).

It was only seven years ago that global warming - even among its most prominent supporters - was seen as a distant threat at least 50 years away. Now we know better - that climate change is happening right now. This year's freak weather may have been exacerbated by the El Nino effect, but that's simply a taster of what's to come within the next 15 years. And the worst thing of all? The effects we're feeling now are the result of our carbon footprint from decades ago - we've got a lot worse since then, so forgive me if I think that right now we can't overplay this threat enough.
