Hydrosave produces a range of equipment that is designed to save the water normally wasted while you wait for the hot tap to run hot water into your sink. The only problem is working out how I'd divert it into a water butt from either the bathroom or kitchen, but at £60 for a battery operated version I suspect it would soon pay for itself if you're on a water meter and regularly have to water the garden from the tap.
