More fuel protests

I see people are now protesting the price of petrol being £1 a litre (see here). Time to get over it - now that China and India are demanding more oil (to fuel our own greedy consumption, ironically), the days of cheap petrol are well and truly over. As the environmentalists argue, people should now look into alternatives - either more fuel-efficient cars like the VW Polo, or looking into public transport. Something has to give, and it won't be the price of oil.
