Waiting for Toni to return from her Christmas works do. Mine is tomorrow, when a load of us freelance hacks meet up for a curry. I've thoughtfully decided to play five-a-side football first, so I guess I'd better break the habit of a lifetime and risk the public showers at the leisure centre after the game...
My new iMac arrived today. Sadly, the extra memory I ordered for it hasn't arrived yet, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to set it up properly. The amount of space I've reclaimed on the desk is amazing, though, and after a momentary guilty twang as I switched off the old iMac for the last time (it's going on Ebay, hopefully tomorrow, but feel free to make me a sensible bid for it - it's a G3 400MHz DV, which means transparent casing showing off its insides. There's 384MB RAM, 13GB hard drive and a region-free DVD drive. I'm throwing in a Zip drive and five 100MB disks, plus an optical cordless mouse... Who am I kidding? Who's going to read this anyway?) I've not looked back.
Oh, and I applied for my passport renewal today - if we are going to go abroad twice next year, it makes sense to get the ball rolling now rather than later, especially as they reward 'early adopters' by allowing you to renew up to nine months in advance of your old passport expiring without penalty in terms of losing time on your new passport (in other words, instead of getting a ten year passport, you effectively get a ten year and nine months one...). Wake up at the back there!
