A long weekend

It's been quite an exhausting weekend so far, but a very productive one. Toni's dad has laid new carpet in the lounge, and we've transformed the house (not that you'd notice right now through all the mess!) into a clutter-free zone that will hopefully attract a buyer quite quickly. It's only when you spend some TLC on your home that you realise just how good it is - I'd be gobsmacked if we're not valued at a decent price that makes it practical to move to Colchester.

Amid the frenzy of the weekend there was still time to catch the brand new Doctor Who on TV. "Hello Rose," said Christopher Eccleston, "I'm the Doctor." And do you know what? He was - and is. A new generation of kids will grow up looking at him as their definitive Doctor Who, and although the opening story was a little weak, it's clear it's set up to be a cracker. Everything is pitched perfectly - the effects are far better than what we've seen before, but still the right side of tacky to be immediately identifiable. The writing is top notch, and the acting is superb as well. Looking forward to next week's episode already - it's like being a kid all over again!
