Yes, I really wrote this at 12.45am (the time on this post is GMT rather than BST). Mattie just came charging through the cat flap as yours truly slumbered fitfully on the floor of the lounge. We really had begun to fear the worst, but in she came (not sure who was chasing her, but smart money's on the ginger tom who terrorises this neighbourhood - when I went out about half an hour ago to the back he was sitting on the roof lurking. Not for long, I should add, but he soon reappeared when I went out the front!)
Oh well, time for some sleep - and she's going nowhere, as we've made the cat flap one-way for tonight...
