... for 50 per cent of the world's wealth is concentrated in the hands of just 2% of the world's population, while 50% of the world's population has just 1% of the wealth between them. Ain't global capitalism great? It's almost as good as learning that green-belt land is under threat from our government's mad-cap desire to concrete over whatever they can.

Sometimes you wonder whether it wouldn't be beneficial for politicians to take some time out of their cosy little system (I hear they're going to vote to raise their salaries to 100K) and to look at the real world through real eyes. You can't tell me that Blair, Brown et al have any real idea about what's going on around them...
