No, we're not accepting rubbish from other EU states as the headline might suggest, but we're the worst country in Europe for recycling. Embarrassingly we dump as much landfill as the 18 best states in Europe combined, even though their collective population is double than ours (see here).
Bring on the landfill tax and the rubbish collection tax, and damn any of you who moan about it. Like all things in modern society, if we actually acted more responsibly - whether it's with driving safely, making an effort to recycle or cut our obscene consumption levels - we wouldn't be staring down the barrel of speed cameras, rubbish taxes and runaway climate change. Get a grip, people.
