Home-made jam and apple crumble

Mum furnished us with a year's supply of jam a few weeks back, and she's given us a box of apples from the apple tree in my parent's garden. They estimate it's shed over 2,000 apples already, with another 1,000 still to fall. Unfortunately they can't harvest them all, but it's gob-smacking how much fruit can be produced by a single tree. Hopefully in the coming years we'll be able to find a home for more and more of those apples - in the meantime, I'd like to say that last night's apple crumble I cooked was delicious. I used brown sugar instead of caster sugar in the crumble mix, which produced a more biscuity topping, but thankfully it was still delicious, and we've got the other half to eat tonight. Thanks mum!
